After completing his studies at Juilliard, Drobinsky began performing professionally and quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented pianists of his generation. He performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic.
