John Campo was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a classical pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Campo showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Campo's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division when he was just six years old. He studied under renowned pianist and teacher Yoheved Kaplinsky, who recognized his exceptional talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. Throughout his childhood and teenage years, Campo won numerous awards and competitions, including the International Piano Competition for Young Musicians in Moscow and the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition. He also performed in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. After graduating from the Juilliard School, Campo continued his studies at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist Gary Graffman.
