He was born on 2nd May 1952 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Gorisek's passion for music began at a young age, and he started playing the piano when he was only six years old. He received his formal education in music at the Ljubljana Academy of Music, where he studied under the guidance of Professor Zora Zarnik. Gorisek's talent as a pianist was evident from an early age, and he quickly gained recognition for his exceptional skills. In 1975, he won the first prize at the Yugoslav National Piano Competition, which marked the beginning of his successful career as a classical pianist. He went on to win several other awards, including the first prize at the International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy, in 1977. Throughout his career, Gorisek has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world. He has collaborated with many renowned conductors and orchestras, including the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Moscow Symphony Orchestra.
