Marie-Claire Jamet is a renowned French harpist who has made significant contributions to the world of classical music. Born on September 22, 1933, in Paris, France, Jamet grew up in a family of musicians. Her father, Pierre Jamet, was a famous harpist, and her mother, Lily Laskine, was a renowned harpist and teacher. Jamet's parents played a significant role in her musical upbringing, and she began playing the harp at the age of six. Jamet's talent for the harp was evident from a young age, and she quickly became a prodigy. She studied under her mother and father, as well as other notable harpists such as Marcel Grandjany and Lily Laskine.
