Emidio Tieri was born on May 12, 1985, in Naples, Italy. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a pianist and his mother a singer. From a young age, Tieri showed a natural talent for music and began studying the piano at the age of six. As a child, Tieri was exposed to a wide range of musical genres, but he was particularly drawn to classical music. He spent countless hours practicing and studying the works of great composers such as Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. By the time he was a teenager, Tieri had already developed a reputation as a prodigious talent in the classical music world. In 2003, Tieri was accepted into the prestigious Conservatorio di Musica San Pietro a Majella in Naples, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and composer Roberto De Simone. During his time at the conservatory, Tieri honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of classical music theory and composition. After graduating from the conservatory in 2007, Tieri began performing professionally as a solo pianist. He quickly gained a reputation for his virtuosic playing and his ability to bring out the emotional depth of classical music. In 2009, he won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Rome, cementing his status as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. Over the years, Tieri has performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has collaborated with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of Tieri's most memorable performances was his 2012 concert at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, where he performed a program of works by Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff. The concert was hailed as a triumph by critics and audiences alike, with many praising Tieri's technical skill and emotional depth. In addition to his performing career, Tieri is also an accomplished composer. He has written numerous works for solo piano, as well as chamber music and orchestral pieces. His compositions have been performed by some of the world's leading musicians and have been featured in concerts and festivals around the world. In 2015, he was awarded the prestigious International Classical Music Award for his recording of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5.
