Del Parkinson is a renowned classical pianist who has captivated audiences around the world with his virtuosic performances and deep musicality. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, in 1952, Parkinson showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano at the age of six. He quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began performing in public at a young age. Parkinson's musical education continued at Brigham Young University, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance. He then went on to study with some of the most distinguished pianists of his generation, including Leon Fleisher, Menahem Pressler, and John Perry. These experiences helped to shape Parkinson's musical style and deepen his understanding of the classical repertoire. Throughout his career, Parkinson has been recognized for his exceptional talent and artistry. He has won numerous awards and competitions, including the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition and the American Pianists Association Fellowship. He has also been a featured soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. One of Parkinson's most memorable performances came in 1984, when he was invited to perform at the White House for President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan.
