Kölner Domchor, also known as the Cologne Cathedral Choir, is a world-renowned classical music artist that has been enchanting audiences for over 1,000 years. The choir is based in Cologne, Germany, and is made up of approximately 150 boys and young men who are selected through a rigorous audition process. The origins of the Kölner Domchor can be traced back to the 9th century when the Archbishop of Cologne established a school for boys that included singing as part of the curriculum. Over time, the choir grew in size and reputation, and by the 13th century, it had become one of the most prestigious choirs in Europe. Throughout its history, the Kölner Domchor has performed at many significant events, including the coronation of Charlemagne in 800 and the consecration of the Cologne Cathedral in 1322. The choir has also performed for numerous popes, kings, and emperors, and has toured extensively throughout Europe and the world. One of the highlights of the Kölner Domchor's history was its performance at the coronation of King George II of Great Britain in 1727. The choir's performance was so impressive that it earned them the nickname "The Singing Angels of Cologne."
