Role:ConductorArnold Rezler was a renowned classical music artist who was born on May 15, 1928, in Vienna, Austria. He was born into a family of musicians, and his father was a well-known conductor and composer. Rezler showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. He later learned to play the violin and the viola. Rezler's family fled Austria in 1938 due to the Nazi occupation, and they settled in the United States. Rezler continued his music education in the US and studied at the Juilliard School in New York City. He also studied with renowned violinist Ivan Galamian. Rezler began his professional career as a violist in the New York Philharmonic in 1951. He played with the orchestra for 12 years and was known for his exceptional musicianship and technical skill. He also played with other orchestras, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra. In addition to his work as a violist, Rezler was also a respected conductor. He conducted the New York Philharmonic in several performances and also conducted other orchestras, including the Boston Pops Orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Rezler was also a prolific composer and arranger. He wrote several pieces for orchestra, including a concerto for viola and orchestra. He also arranged music for various ensembles, including string quartets and chamber orchestras. One of Rezler's most notable performances was his solo performance of the Walton Viola Concerto with the New York Philharmonic in 1958. The performance was highly praised by critics and established Rezler as one of the leading violists of his time. Rezler received several awards and honors throughout his career. He was awarded the National Endowment for the Arts Solo Recitalist Grant in 1976 and was also a recipient of the ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming.
