Anna Kreetta Gribajcevic is a Finnish classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her exceptional talent and musicality. Born on May 22, 1987, in Helsinki, Finland, Anna Kreetta showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. Her parents, both music lovers, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue her passion for music. Anna Kreetta's musical education began at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist Hui-Ying Liu-Tawaststjerna. She later continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, Germany, where she studied with Professor Arie Vardi. During her time in Hannover, Anna Kreetta also had the opportunity to work with other distinguished pianists, including András Schiff, Menahem Pressler, and Ferenc Rados. Anna Kreetta's talent and dedication to her craft quickly became evident, and she began to receive recognition for her performances. In 2007, she won first prize in the Young Pianist of the North competition in Oulu, Finland. The following year, she won first prize in the International Piano Competition in Enschede, the Netherlands. These early successes paved the way for Anna Kreetta's career as a professional pianist. Since then, Anna Kreetta has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, and the Helsinki Music Centre. She has also performed with many renowned orchestras, including the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern, and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg. Anna Kreetta's repertoire is vast and includes works by many of the great composers, including Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, and Schumann. She is particularly known for her interpretations of the works of Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, and has recorded his complete piano music for the Ondine label. In addition to her performances, Anna Kreetta is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, and has given masterclasses in many countries around the world. Anna Kreetta's talent and hard work have been recognized with numerous awards and honors. In 2010, she was awarded the Pro Musica Foundation's Young Artist of the Year award in Finland. In 2012, she was awarded the Finnish State Prize for Music, one of the country's highest honors for musicians. In 2016, she was awarded the prestigious Emma Award for Best Classical Album for her recording of Sibelius's complete piano music. Despite her many accomplishments, Anna Kreetta remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to perform and teach, and is always seeking to improve her skills and deepen her understanding of the music she loves.
