Dimitrova's talent was recognized by her music teacher, who encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She studied at the State Academy of Music in Sofia, where she trained under the renowned Bulgarian soprano, Raina Kabaivanska. Dimitrova made her professional debut in 1965 at the Sofia Opera, where she sang the role of Abigaille in Verdi's "Nabucco." Dimitrova quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented sopranos of her generation. Her powerful voice and dramatic stage presence made her a favorite among audiences and critics alike.
