From a young age, Selin showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Selin's parents recognized her potential and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking lessons with renowned violin teachers in Sweden and quickly gained recognition for her exceptional talent. At the age of 12, Selin won first prize in the national youth competition for violinists in Sweden. In 2001, Selin was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied under the guidance of renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman. During her time at Juilliard, Selin honed her skills and developed a unique style that blended technical precision with emotional depth. After graduating from Juilliard in 2005, Selin began performing professionally and quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented young violinists in the world. She made her debut with the New York Philharmonic in 2006, performing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto to critical acclaim. Over the years, Selin has performed with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Vienna Philharmonic. She has also collaborated with many of the world's leading conductors, including Daniel Barenboim, Simon Rattle, and Gustavo Dudamel. One of Selin's most memorable performances came in 2010, when she performed at the Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm. She played a piece by Swedish composer Anders Hillborg, which was specially commissioned for the occasion. The performance was broadcast live to millions of viewers around the world and received widespread praise. Selin has also been the recipient of numerous awards and honors throughout her career. In 2008, she was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional promise for the future. She has also been awarded the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship and the Solti Foundation Career Assistance Award. In addition to her work as a performer, Selin is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She has taught masterclasses at some of the world's leading music schools, including the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Conservatoire de Paris. She is also a frequent guest lecturer at universities and music festivals around the world. Despite her many accomplishments, Selin remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to push herself to new heights and is always looking for new ways to express herself through music.
