Ferenc Rados is a Hungarian classical pianist and teacher, born on August 1, 1946, in Budapest, Hungary. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential piano teachers of his generation, having taught some of the world's most renowned pianists, including András Schiff, Zoltán Kocsis, and Dezső Ránki. Rados began his musical studies at the age of six, studying piano with Margit Varró and composition with Ferenc Szabó. He later studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where he was a student of Pál Kadosa and Ferenc Rados. He graduated with honors in 1969 and went on to win several international piano competitions, including the Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Budapest in 1971. Throughout his career, Rados has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician, collaborating with some of the world's most renowned musicians, including violinist György Pauk and cellist Miklós Perényi. He has also recorded numerous albums, including works by Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and Bartók. In addition to his performing career, Rados is also a highly respected teacher. He has taught at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest since 1972 and has also taught at the International Musicians' Seminar in Prussia Cove, England, since 1978.
