He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a jazz pianist and his mother a classical violinist. From a young age, Weeks showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Weeks received his formal music education at the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under renowned pianist and teacher, Yoheved Kaplinsky. During his time at Juilliard, Weeks won numerous awards and competitions, including the prestigious Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition in 1996. After graduating from Juilliard, Weeks began his professional career as a concert pianist, performing in major venues around the world. He quickly gained a reputation as a virtuoso pianist, known for his technical skill and emotional depth. One of Weeks' most memorable performances was at the 2002 Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in Moscow, where he performed Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. His performance was met with critical acclaim, and he was awarded the Silver Medal in the competition. Weeks has also performed with many other major orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. He has collaborated with some of the world's most renowned conductors, including Leonard Bernstein, Zubin Mehta, and Simon Rattle. In addition to his work as a soloist, Weeks is also an accomplished chamber musician. He has performed with many of the world's leading chamber ensembles, including the Emerson String Quartet and the Guarneri Quartet. Throughout his career, Weeks has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to classical music. In 2008, he was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who have the potential for major careers in classical music. He has also been awarded the Gilmore Artist Award, the Arthur Rubinstein Prize, and the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Despite his many accomplishments, Weeks remains humble and dedicated to his craft.
