Fabrice Bollon is a renowned French conductor and pianist, known for his exceptional talent and passion for classical music. Born on December 22, 1965, in Strasbourg, France, Bollon grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a violinist, and his mother was a pianist, which inspired him to pursue a career in music. Bollon began his musical education at the Strasbourg Conservatory, where he studied piano and conducting. He later continued his studies at the Paris Conservatory, where he received a diploma in conducting. During his time at the Paris Conservatory, Bollon had the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned conductors of the time, including Pierre Boulez and Seiji Ozawa. After completing his studies, Bollon began his career as a conductor, working with various orchestras in France and abroad. In 1992, he was appointed as the principal conductor of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, a position he held for six years. During his tenure, he led the orchestra in numerous performances, including the world premiere of Philippe Manoury's "Sound and Fury" and the French premiere of John Adams' "Harmonielehre." In 1998, Bollon was appointed as the principal conductor of the Mulhouse Symphony Orchestra, a position he held for 15 years. During his time with the orchestra, he led them in numerous performances, including the world premiere of Michael Jarrell's "Assonance VII" and the French premiere of John Corigliano's "Symphony No. 1." Bollon has also worked with many other orchestras around the world, including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan. He has conducted at some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Suntory Hall in Tokyo, and the Lincoln Center in New York. In addition to his work as a conductor, Bollon is also an accomplished pianist. He has performed as a soloist with many orchestras, including the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, the Orchestre National de Lorraine, and the Orchestre National de Montpellier. He has also recorded several albums as a pianist, including a recording of the complete piano works of Maurice Ravel. Throughout his career, Bollon has received numerous awards and accolades for his work as a conductor and pianist. In 2003, he was awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in recognition of his contributions to the arts. In 2007, he was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque by the Académie Charles Cros for his recording of the complete piano works of Maurice Ravel. Bollon's passion for classical music is evident in his performances, which are known for their energy, precision, and emotional depth.
