Role:EnsembleSalut Salon is a classical music quartet that was formed in Hamburg, Germany in 2002. The group consists of four talented musicians: Angelika Bachmann (violin), Iris Siegfried (violin and vocals), Anne-Monika von Twardowski (piano), and Sonja Lena Schmid (cello). The quartet is known for their unique and entertaining performances that combine classical music with elements of cabaret, comedy, and theater. Angelika Bachmann, the founder of Salut Salon, was born in 1976 in Hamburg, Germany. She began playing the violin at the age of four and went on to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg. After completing her studies, Bachmann worked as a freelance musician and performed with various orchestras and ensembles. In 2002, Bachmann decided to form her own quartet and invited three other female musicians to join her. The quartet was named Salut Salon, which means "Hello Salon" in French. The name was chosen to reflect the group's desire to create a salon-like atmosphere where classical music could be enjoyed in a relaxed and informal setting. Salut Salon quickly gained a following in Germany and began performing at various venues and festivals. In 2006, the quartet released their first album, "Salut Salon Live". The album featured recordings of some of their most popular performances, including their signature piece, "Wettstreit zu viert" (Competition for Four). Over the years, Salut Salon has performed at some of the world's most prestigious venues, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Konzerthaus, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. They have also appeared on numerous television shows and have been featured in several documentaries. One of Salut Salon's most memorable performances was at the 2014 Echo Klassik Awards, where they won the award for Best Crossover Album. The quartet performed a medley of classical and pop songs, including "Viva la Vida" by Coldplay and "Smooth Criminal" by Michael Jackson. Their performance was met with a standing ovation and was widely praised for its creativity and energy. In addition to their live performances, Salut Salon has released several albums, including "Carnival Fantasy" (2010), "The Christmas Album" (2011), and "Love" (2015). Their albums have received critical acclaim and have helped to establish the quartet as one of the most innovative and exciting classical music groups in the world. Salut Salon's success has not gone unnoticed, and the quartet has received numerous awards and honors over the years. In addition to their Echo Klassik Award, they have also won the German Music Prize and the European Culture Prize. They have been praised for their ability to bring classical music to a wider audience and for their commitment to innovation and creativity. Despite their success, Salut Salon remains committed to their original vision of creating a salon-like atmosphere where classical music can be enjoyed in a relaxed and informal setting. They continue to tour extensively and to push the boundaries of classical music with their unique and entertaining performances.More....
