Leo Koscielny was born on May 12, 1985, in Warsaw, Poland. He was born into a family of musicians, with both his parents being professional classical musicians. His father was a renowned pianist, and his mother was a violinist. From a young age, Leo was exposed to classical music and began showing an interest in playing the piano. At the age of six, Leo began taking piano lessons with his father. He quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument and began performing in public at the age of eight. Leo's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Frederic Chopin Music School in Warsaw, where he received formal training in piano performance. Leo's talent continued to grow, and he began participating in national and international piano competitions. In 1998, at the age of 13, he won first prize in the International Chopin Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Szafarnia, Poland. This was a significant achievement for Leo, and it marked the beginning of his career as a professional pianist. Leo continued to participate in competitions and won several more awards, including first prize in the International Piano Competition in San Marino, Italy, in 2001, and first prize in the International Piano Competition in Valencia, Spain, in 2003. In 2004, Leo was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist Emanuel Ax. After graduating from Juilliard in 2008, Leo began performing professionally, both as a soloist and as part of chamber ensembles. One of Leo's most significant performances came in 2010 when he was invited to perform at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. He was awarded second prize in the competition, cementing his status as one of the world's top pianists.
