Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1971, Krista showed an early interest in music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Her parents, both musicians, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Krista's early musical education was under the tutelage of her mother, Donna Bennion, who was a violinist with the Utah Symphony. She later studied with renowned violinists such as Dorothy DeLay, Masao Kawasaki, and Itzhak Perlman. Krista attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in 1993 and her Master of Music degree in 1995. Krista's talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age. She won numerous competitions and awards, including the Utah Symphony Young Artist Competition, the Utah State Fair Talent Competition, and the National Federation of Music Clubs Competition. In 1989, she was selected to perform with the Utah Symphony as a soloist, which was a significant achievement for a young musician. After completing her studies at Juilliard, Krista began her professional career as a violinist. She has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. She has also collaborated with renowned conductors such as Leonard Bernstein, Sir Simon Rattle, and Zubin Mehta. One of Krista's most significant achievements was her performance of the Brahms Violin Concerto with the Utah Symphony in 1996.
