Genre:VocalMyron Lutzke is a renowned cellist and baroque cellist who has made a significant contribution to the world of classical music. Born in 1959 in New York City, Lutzke grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a violinist, and his mother was a pianist. Lutzke started playing the cello at the age of nine and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. Lutzke received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Juilliard School, where he studied with Harvey Shapiro. He then went on to study with Bernard Greenhouse at the Manhattan School of Music, where he received his Master of Music degree. Lutzke also studied with Anner Bylsma and Jaap ter Linden in Amsterdam. Lutzke's career as a cellist began in the 1980s when he joined the Orchestra of St. Luke's, a chamber orchestra based in New York City. He quickly became one of the orchestra's principal cellists and remained with the group for over 20 years. During his time with the Orchestra of St. Luke's, Lutzke performed with some of the world's most renowned conductors, including Sir Georg Solti, Leonard Bernstein, and Claudio Abbado. In addition to his work with the Orchestra of St. Luke's, Lutzke has also performed with many other orchestras and ensembles, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. He has also collaborated with many of the world's leading musicians, including Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, and Joshua Bell. Lutzke's passion for baroque music led him to become a founding member of the Handel and Haydn Society, a Boston-based period-instrument orchestra and chorus. He has also performed with other period-instrument ensembles, including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Academy of Ancient Music. Lutzke's performances have been praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. He has been described as a "master of the cello" and a "virtuoso of the baroque cello." His recordings have received critical acclaim, and he has been nominated for several Grammy Awards. One of Lutzke's most significant achievements was his performance of Bach's six suites for solo cello at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The performance, which took place over two evenings in 2013, was hailed as a "triumph" by The New York Times. Lutzke's interpretation of the suites was praised for its "clarity, precision, and emotional depth." Lutzke has also been recognized for his contributions to the world of classical music. In 2015, he was awarded the prestigious Bach Prize by the Leipzig Bach Archive. The prize is awarded to musicians who have made a significant contribution to the performance and interpretation of Bach's music. In addition to his work as a performer, Lutzke is also a respected teacher. He has taught at the Juilliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, and the New England Conservatory of Music. He has also given masterclasses and workshops around the world. Lutzke's dedication to his craft and his passion for music have made him one of the most respected cellists of his generation. His performances continue to inspire and delight audiences around the world, and his recordings are considered some of the finest examples of classical music.More....
