Thomas Fulton was born on May 15, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his mother being a pianist and his father a cellist. From a young age, Fulton showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Fulton's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue music seriously. He began taking piano lessons with renowned pianist and teacher, Maria João Pires, at the age of six. Under her guidance, Fulton developed a deep understanding and appreciation for classical music. At the age of 12, Fulton made his debut performance at Carnegie Hall, playing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major. The performance was a huge success, and Fulton received a standing ovation from the audience. This performance marked the beginning of Fulton's career as a classical pianist. Over the years, Fulton continued to hone his skills and develop his own unique style of playing. He studied at the Juilliard School in New York City, where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. He then went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he received a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance. Throughout his career, Fulton has performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has also performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of Fulton's most memorable performances was his rendition of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp Minor, also known as the "Moonlight Sonata." Fulton's interpretation of the piece was praised for its emotional depth and sensitivity, and it remains one of his most popular performances to date. Fulton has also received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. In 2007, he was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show great potential for a successful career in classical music. He was also a recipient of the Gilmore Artist Award in 2010, which is given to pianists who demonstrate exceptional talent and promise. In addition to his performances, Fulton is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. He has taught masterclasses at some of the world's leading music schools, including the Juilliard School and the Royal Academy of Music. He is also a faculty member at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. Despite his success, Fulton remains humble and dedicated to his craft.
