He was the son of a music teacher and grew up in a family that was deeply involved in music. From a young age, Morbitzer showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Morbitzer's talent was quickly recognized, and he began studying music at the Vienna Academy of Music at the age of eight. He studied under some of the most renowned music teachers of the time, including Bruno Seidlhofer and Richard Hauser. Morbitzer's dedication and hard work paid off, and he graduated from the academy with top honors. After completing his studies, Morbitzer began his career as a concert pianist. He quickly gained a reputation for his exceptional talent and was invited to perform at some of the most prestigious concert halls in Europe. Morbitzer's performances were always highly anticipated, and he never failed to impress his audiences with his technical skill and emotional depth. One of Morbitzer's most memorable performances was at the Salzburg Festival in 1956. He performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, also known as the Emperor Concerto, with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
