Born on September 23, 1982, in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, Kirill Troussov began his musical journey at a very young age. His parents, both professional musicians, recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. At the age of five, Kirill Troussov began taking violin lessons from his mother, Irina Troussova, who was a violinist with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. He showed remarkable progress and was soon performing in public. At the age of eight, he made his debut with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, playing the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto. Kirill Troussov's talent was recognized by many, and he was soon invited to perform in various countries around the world. He won his first international competition at the age of ten, the International Competition for Young Violinists in Novosibirsk, Russia. This was followed by many other awards and prizes, including the Grand Prix at the International Competition for Young Musicians in Lisbon, Portugal, and the First Prize at the International Violin Competition in Kloster Schöntal, Germany. In 1995, Kirill Troussov and his family moved to Germany, where he continued his studies with Zakhar Bron at the Musikhochschule Lübeck. He also studied with other renowned violinists, including Maxim Vengerov, Ida Haendel, and Ruggiero Ricci. During this time, he won many more awards, including the First Prize at the International Violin Competition in Novosibirsk, Russia, and the First Prize at the International Violin Competition in Kloster Schöntal, Germany. Kirill Troussov's career as a soloist took off in the early 2000s, and he began performing with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. He has also performed at major music festivals, including the Salzburg Festival, the Lucerne Festival, and the Verbier Festival. One of Kirill Troussov's most memorable performances was his debut with the Berlin Philharmonic in 2003, where he played the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle. The performance was highly acclaimed, and Kirill Troussov was praised for his virtuosity and musicality. Kirill Troussov has also made many recordings, including the complete works for violin and piano by Brahms, Schumann, and Grieg, as well as the complete works for violin and orchestra by Tchaikovsky. His recordings have received critical acclaim and have won many awards, including the Diapason d'Or and the Echo Klassik. In addition to his career as a soloist, Kirill Troussov is also a dedicated chamber musician. He has performed with many renowned musicians, including Martha Argerich, Yuri Bashmet, and Mischa Maisky. He is a member of the Tchaikovsky Trio, which he founded with his sister, pianist Alexandra Troussova, and cellist Daniel Müller-Schott. Kirill Troussov is also a passionate teacher and has given masterclasses around the world. He is a professor at the Musikhochschule Lübeck and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München.
