Mikaeli Chamber Choir is a renowned classical music ensemble based in Turku, Finland. The choir was founded in 1966 by its current conductor, Kari Turunen, and has since become one of the most respected and accomplished choirs in the country. The choir's name is derived from the Mikaeli Church in Turku, where the ensemble was first established. The choir's repertoire is primarily focused on classical music, with a particular emphasis on Finnish choral music. The choir has also performed a wide range of works from other countries and periods, including Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic, and contemporary music. Mikaeli Chamber Choir is composed of approximately 30 singers, all of whom are highly trained and experienced musicians.
