Role:EnsembleTrio di Parma is a classical music ensemble consisting of violinist Ivan Rabaglia, cellist Enrico Bronzi, and pianist Alberto Miodini. The trio was formed in 1990 in Parma, Italy, and has since become one of the most renowned chamber music groups in the world. Ivan Rabaglia was born in Parma in 1963 and began studying the violin at a young age. He went on to study at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and later at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. Enrico Bronzi was born in Cremona in 1977 and began playing the cello at the age of six. He studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and later at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, Switzerland. Alberto Miodini was born in Milan in 1963 and began playing the piano at the age of six. He studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and later at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. The three musicians met while studying at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and formed Trio di Parma in 1990. They quickly gained recognition for their exceptional musicianship and began performing at major concert halls and festivals around the world. One of the highlights of Trio di Parma's career was their performance at the 1995 Salzburg Festival, where they received critical acclaim for their interpretation of Beethoven's "Archduke" Trio. They have also performed at the Berlin Philharmonic, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Wigmore Hall in London, among many other prestigious venues. In addition to their performances, Trio di Parma has also recorded extensively. They have released over 20 albums, including recordings of works by Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, and Shostakovich. Their recording of Schubert's "Trout" Quintet with clarinetist Alessandro Carbonare won the 2006 Echo Klassik award for Chamber Music Recording of the Year. Trio di Parma has also been recognized with numerous other awards and honors throughout their career. In 1995, they were awarded the prestigious "Premio Abbiati" by the Italian National Association of Music Critics. They have also been awarded the "Franco Abbiati" Prize for Best Chamber Music Group and the "Diapason d'Or" award for their recordings. Despite their success, Trio di Parma remains committed to their craft and continues to push the boundaries of classical music. They have collaborated with contemporary composers such as Salvatore Sciarrino and Giovanni Sollima, and have premiered numerous new works. In addition to their performances and recordings, Trio di Parma is also dedicated to music education. They have conducted masterclasses and workshops around the world, and have served as professors at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan. Trio di Parma's dedication to their craft and their exceptional musicianship have made them one of the most respected and beloved chamber music ensembles in the world.
