Cantemus Children's Choir is a classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their angelic voices since their inception in 1990. The choir was founded by Dóra Halas, a Hungarian conductor and music educator, who had a vision of creating a children's choir that would be recognized for its exceptional musical talent and professionalism. The choir started with just a handful of children, but it quickly grew in size and popularity. The choir's first major performance was in 1991, when they performed at the International Children's Choir Festival in Budapest. The choir's performance was met with critical acclaim, and they were invited to perform at several other festivals and events throughout Hungary. In 1993, the choir embarked on their first international tour, which took them to Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. The tour was a huge success, and the choir received standing ovations at every performance. This tour marked the beginning of the choir's international career, and they have since performed in over 30 countries around the world. Over the years, the choir has won numerous awards and accolades for their exceptional musical talent. In 1995, they won first prize at the International Children's Choir Festival in Olomouc, Czech Republic. They also won first prize at the International Children's Choir Festival in Neerpelt, Belgium in 1997 and 2001. In addition to their festival performances, the choir has also performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Sydney Opera House in Australia. They have also performed with some of the world's most renowned orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic and the Vienna Philharmonic. One of the choir's most memorable performances was at the opening ceremony of the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. The choir performed the Olympic Hymn, which was composed by Spyridon Samaras and written by Kostis Palamas. The performance was watched by millions of people around the world, and it was a proud moment for the choir and for Hungary. The choir's repertoire includes a wide range of classical music, from Renaissance and Baroque music to contemporary works. They have also performed traditional Hungarian folk songs and Christmas carols. The choir's performances are known for their precision, clarity, and emotional depth.
