Gwendolyn Masin is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a violinist, educator, and author. Born in Zurich, Switzerland, on October 22, 1977, Masin grew up in a family of musicians. Her father, Igor Masin, was a pianist and composer, while her mother, Maria Masin, was a violinist. Masin's parents recognized her musical talent at an early age and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Masin began playing the violin at the age of three and gave her first public performance at the age of five. She studied at the Zurich Conservatory and later at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree. Masin continued her studies at the Royal College of Music in London, where she earned a Master of Music degree. Masin's career as a soloist began in 1995 when she won the first prize at the International Violin Competition in Novosibirsk, Russia. This win launched her career and led to performances with major orchestras around the world. Masin has performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, among others.
