From a young age, Rollenmüller showed a keen interest in music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. He began playing the piano at the age of six and quickly developed a natural talent for the instrument. Rollenmüller's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the prestigious Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. He studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and composer, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. Rollenmüller's dedication and hard work paid off, and he graduated with honors in 1972. After completing his studies, Rollenmüller began his career as a concert pianist.
