He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Karel showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Karel's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly progressed, displaying a natural ability for the instrument. By the age of ten, Karel had already won several local competitions and was gaining recognition as a prodigious young talent. In 1996, Karel was accepted into the Prague Conservatory, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Jan Novotny. During his time at the conservatory, Karel honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of classical music. He also began to perform in public, giving recitals and playing with orchestras. In 2005, Karel graduated from the Prague Conservatory with honors and was awarded a scholarship to study at the prestigious Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, Germany. There, he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Gerhard Oppitz. Karel's time in Munich was a period of intense growth and development, and he emerged as a mature and accomplished musician. Karel's career as a professional pianist began in earnest in 2008, when he won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Prague. This victory brought him to the attention of the international classical music community, and he began to receive invitations to perform at major concert halls and festivals around the world. Over the years, Karel has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. He has also collaborated with many of the world's most renowned conductors, including Daniel Barenboim, Simon Rattle, and Zubin Mehta. Karel's repertoire is vast and varied, encompassing works from the Baroque era to the present day. He is particularly renowned for his interpretations of the music of Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff, and has recorded several critically acclaimed albums of their works. In addition to his performing career, Karel is also a dedicated teacher and mentor.
