Emma Abbate is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a pianist, chamber musician, and musicologist. Born in Naples, Italy, in 1979, Abbate began her musical journey at a young age, showing a natural talent for the piano. She went on to study at the Conservatorio di Musica San Pietro a Majella in Naples, where she received her diploma in piano performance with honors. After completing her studies in Naples, Abbate moved to London to pursue further studies at the Royal Academy of Music. There, she studied with pianist Christopher Elton and harpsichordist Terence Charlston, and earned a Master of Arts degree in piano performance. She also completed a PhD in musicology at the University of Southampton, where she focused on the music of Italian composer Francesco Durante. Throughout her career, Abbate has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician, collaborating with some of the world's most renowned musicians. She has performed at prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, and the Purcell Room in London, as well as at festivals such as the Edinburgh International Festival, the Oxford Lieder Festival, and the Bath International Music Festival. Abbate has also been recognized for her outstanding musical achievements, receiving numerous awards and accolades. In 2001, she won the prestigious Premio Napoli, a national competition for young musicians in Italy. She was also a finalist in the 2002 International Mozart Competition in Salzburg, Austria, and was awarded the prestigious DipRAM for outstanding performance at the Royal Academy of Music.
