Enrico Pace is a renowned classical pianist who has captivated audiences around the world with his virtuosic performances and deep musicality. Born in 1967 in Rimini, Italy, Pace showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano at the age of six. He quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument, and by the time he was a teenager, he had already won several prestigious competitions. Pace continued his musical education at the Conservatory of Music in Pesaro, where he studied with the renowned pianist and pedagogue Franco Scala. Under Scala's guidance, Pace honed his technique and developed a deep understanding of the classical repertoire. He also began to explore contemporary music, working closely with composers such as Luciano Berio and Salvatore Sciarrino. In 1990, Pace won the prestigious Busoni International Piano Competition, which launched his career as a soloist. He quickly became known for his powerful and expressive playing, as well as his ability to bring out the nuances and subtleties of the music. He has since performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. One of Pace's most memorable performances was his 2003 debut at the Salzburg Festival, where he played Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 with the Vienna Philharmonic. The performance was hailed as a triumph, with critics praising Pace's "brilliant technique" and "deeply felt interpretation." He has since returned to the Salzburg Festival several times, performing works by Mozart, Schumann, and Brahms. Pace has also made a name for himself as a chamber musician, collaborating with some of the world's leading instrumentalists and singers. He has performed with violinist Maxim Vengerov, cellist Mischa Maisky, and soprano Barbara Frittoli, among others. In 2010, he formed a piano duo with his wife, the pianist and conductor Alessandra Ammara, and the two have since performed together around the world. In addition to his performing career, Pace is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught at the Conservatory of Music in Pesaro, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich. He is known for his rigorous and demanding approach to teaching, as well as his ability to inspire his students to reach their full potential. Pace has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career. In addition to the Busoni International Piano Competition, he has won the International Piano Competition of Senigallia, the International Piano Competition of Porto, and the International Piano Competition of Epinal. He has also been awarded the Premio Abbiati, Italy's most prestigious music award, and the Echo Klassik Award, Germany's top classical music prize. Despite his many accomplishments, Pace remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to perform and teach around the world, always striving to deepen his understanding of the music and to share his passion with others.
