Born on June 15, 1970, in Sydney, Australia, Adele grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a violinist, and her mother was a pianist. Adele started playing the violin at the age of two, and by the time she was four, she was already performing in public. Adele's talent was evident from a young age, and she quickly became a prodigy. She won her first competition at the age of five and went on to win numerous other competitions throughout her childhood. At the age of eight, Adele was accepted into the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she studied under the tutelage of Alice Waten. In 1984, Adele's family moved to New York, where she continued her studies at the Juilliard School. She studied under Dorothy DeLay, one of the most renowned violin teachers of the 20th century. Under DeLay's guidance, Adele honed her skills and developed her unique style. Adele's career took off in the early 1990s when she won the Gold Medal at the prestigious International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. This was a significant achievement for Adele, as she was the first Australian to win the competition. The win catapulted her to international fame, and she began performing with some of the world's most renowned orchestras. Over the years, Adele has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. She has also collaborated with many of the world's leading conductors, including Sir Simon Rattle, Lorin Maazel, and Vladimir Ashkenazy. Adele has also made numerous recordings throughout her career. Her debut album, featuring works by Brahms and Schumann, was released in 1995 and received critical acclaim. She has since released several other albums, including recordings of works by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Mendelssohn. In addition to her performing career, Adele is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught at the Juilliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, and the University of Miami. She is also the founder and artistic director of the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California. Adele has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In addition to her Gold Medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition, she has also won the Young Australian of the Year Award, the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Award, and the Order of Australia Medal.
