She began taking piano lessons from a young age and quickly developed her skills. By the time she was a teenager, Ann was already performing in public concerts and competitions. In 1968, Ann was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Maria João Pires. During her time at the academy, Ann honed her skills and developed her unique style of playing. After graduating from the academy, Ann began performing in concerts across Europe and the United States. Her performances were highly acclaimed, and she quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented pianists of her generation. In 1975, Ann made her debut at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where she performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5.
