Born on 13th November 1977 in Gorseinon, Swansea, Wales, Elin grew up in a musical family. Her father was a music teacher, and her mother was a pianist. Elin started singing at a young age and showed a natural talent for music. Elin attended the Ysgol Gyfun Gŵyr school in Swansea, where she was a member of the school choir. She went on to study music at the University of York, where she received a first-class honours degree. She then went on to study at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, where she received a postgraduate diploma in performance. Elin's career as a professional singer began in 2000 when she won the Welsh Singer of the Year competition. This led to her being invited to perform at the Welsh National Eisteddfod, where she received critical acclaim for her performance. She went on to perform at the BBC Proms in 2001, where she sang Handel's "Let the Bright Seraphim" to great acclaim. Elin's career continued to flourish, and she became a regular performer at major music festivals and venues around the world. In 2004, she performed at the opening ceremony of the Athens Olympics, where she sang the Welsh national anthem. She also performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Sydney Opera House, and the Lincoln Center in New York. In 2007, Elin released her debut album, "Eternal Light," which featured a collection of Welsh hymns and folk songs. The album received critical acclaim and was nominated for a Classical Brit Award. She went on to release several more albums, including "Bach: Cantatas" and "Handel: Eternal Source of Light Divine."
