From a young age, Arm showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. His parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. Arm's musical education began at the Juilliard School of Music, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Rosina Lhévinne. He later continued his studies at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he was mentored by the legendary pianist, Rudolf Serkin. Arm's talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age, and he quickly gained recognition as a rising star in the classical music world. He made his debut performance at the age of 16, playing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. This performance was widely acclaimed, and it marked the beginning of Arm's successful career as a classical pianist. Throughout his career, Arm performed with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. He also collaborated with many renowned conductors, such as Leonard Bernstein, Herbert von Karajan, and Claudio Abbado. One of Arm's most notable performances was his rendition of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Philadelphia Orchestra in 1977.
