Artist Info

The Dover Quartet is a classical music ensemble that has gained international recognition for its exceptional performances and recordings. The quartet was founded in 2008 at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where its members were studying at the time. The founding members of the Dover Quartet are violinists Joel Link and Bryan Lee, violist Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt, and cellist Camden Shaw. All four members were students at the Curtis Institute of Music when they formed the quartet, and they quickly gained a reputation for their exceptional musicianship and chemistry as an ensemble. The Dover Quartet's early performances were well-received, and they quickly began to gain recognition in the classical music world. In 2010, the quartet won the grand prize at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, one of the most prestigious chamber music competitions in the United States. This win helped to launch the quartet's career, and they began to receive invitations to perform at major concert halls and festivals around the world. Since then, the Dover Quartet has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Wigmore Hall in London. They have also been featured at major music festivals, including the Ravinia Festival, the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. One of the highlights of the Dover Quartet's career was their performance at the 2013 Banff International String Quartet Competition, where they won first prize. This competition is widely regarded as one of the most important chamber music competitions in the world, and winning it is a major achievement for any ensemble. The Dover Quartet's win at Banff helped to solidify their reputation as one of the most talented and exciting young ensembles in classical music. In addition to their live performances, the Dover Quartet has also released several critically acclaimed recordings. Their debut album, released in 2013, features works by Mozart, Borodin, and Schubert, and was praised by critics for its technical precision and emotional depth. The quartet has also recorded works by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Shostakovich, among others. The Dover Quartet's members are all accomplished musicians in their own right, and have received numerous awards and accolades for their individual performances. Joel Link has won several competitions, including the Menuhin Competition and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions. Bryan Lee has performed as a soloist with several major orchestras, including the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra. Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic, and has been a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Camden Shaw has performed with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic, and has been a member of the Escher String Quartet. Despite their individual accomplishments, the members of the Dover Quartet are committed to their work as an ensemble, and have developed a close musical and personal bond over the years. They have been praised for their seamless blend of individual voices, and for their ability to communicate with each other and with their audiences through their music.
