Clemmie Franks was born on May 12, 1985, in London, England. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Clemmie showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Clemmie's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking lessons with renowned violinists and quickly gained a reputation as a prodigy. By the age of ten, she had already performed in several prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall and the Barbican Centre. As Clemmie grew older, she continued to hone her skills and expand her repertoire. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree with first-class honors. She then went on to earn a Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School in New York City. Throughout her career, Clemmie has performed with some of the world's most renowned orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Berlin Philharmonic. She has also collaborated with many of the world's leading conductors, including Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Gustavo Dudamel. One of Clemmie's most notable performances was at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She was chosen to perform the solo violin part in the opening ceremony, which was watched by millions of people around the world. Her performance was widely praised for its beauty and emotional depth. Clemmie has also won numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 2007, she won the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, which is considered one of the most prestigious violin competitions in the world. She has also been awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society's Instrumentalist Award and the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship. In addition to her performing career, Clemmie is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She has taught at several prestigious music schools, including the Royal Academy of Music and the Juilliard School. She is also a frequent guest lecturer and has given masterclasses around the world.
