Katia Velletaz is a Swiss soprano who has made a name for herself in the world of classical music. Born on December 22, 1982, in Geneva, Switzerland, Velletaz grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a pianist, and her mother was a singer, so it was only natural that she would develop a love for music at a young age. Velletaz began her musical training at the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève, where she studied piano and singing. She later went on to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, Germany, where she received her diploma in opera singing. Velletaz's career as a professional singer began in 2008 when she made her debut at the Opéra de Lausanne in the role of Pamina in Mozart's "The Magic Flute."
