From a young age, Rivers showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Rivers received his formal music education at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Maria João Pires. During his time at the academy, Rivers won several awards and accolades, including the prestigious Royal Academy of Music Bach Prize and the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship. After completing his studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Rivers embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist. He has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of Rivers' most notable performances was his debut at the BBC Proms in 2010, where he performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 with the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
