At the age of six, Vito began taking piano lessons, and by the time he was ten, he had already started performing in public. He was a prodigious talent, and his parents recognized his potential early on. During his time in the army, he continued to play the piano whenever he could, and he even composed music for his fellow soldiers. After the war ended, Vito returned to Italy and resumed his career as a pianist. In 1948, Vito was invited to perform at the Edinburgh International Festival in Scotland. This was a major opportunity for him to showcase his talent on an international stage, and he did not disappoint.
