He was born on September 30, 1918, in Natal, Brazil, to a family of musicians. His father, Tomazzo Parisot, was a violinist, and his mother, Maria de Lourdes, was a pianist. Parisot began playing the cello at the age of seven and showed exceptional talent from an early age. Parisot's musical education began at the Brazilian Conservatory of Music in Rio de Janeiro, where he studied with Pablo Casals. He later continued his studies in Europe with Gaspar Cassado and Diran Alexanian. In 1946, he won the Geneva International Competition, which launched his international career. Parisot has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. He has also collaborated with renowned conductors such as Leonard Bernstein, Zubin Mehta, and Seiji Ozawa. Parisot's repertoire includes works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, and many other classical composers. In addition to his performing career, Parisot has also made significant contributions to music education. He has taught at the Yale School of Music since 1958 and has trained many of today's leading cellists, including Yo-Yo Ma and Jian Wang.
