The Debrecen Kodály Chorus is a renowned classical music ensemble based in Debrecen, Hungary. The choir was founded in 1964 by conductor and composer Zoltán Kodály, who sought to create a professional choir that would specialize in performing Hungarian choral music. The choir was named after Kodály, who was a prominent figure in Hungarian music and a pioneer in the field of music education. Under the leadership of Kodály, the choir quickly gained a reputation for excellence and became one of the most respected choral ensembles in Hungary. The choir's repertoire focused on Hungarian folk music and choral works by Hungarian composers, including Kodály himself. The choir is led by conductor and music director Máté Szabó Sipos, who has been with the choir since 2012.
