The Bergen Woodwind Quintet is a renowned classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their exceptional performances for over five decades. The quintet was formed in 1965 in Bergen, Norway, by five talented musicians who shared a passion for chamber music and a desire to create something truly special. The founding members of the Bergen Woodwind Quintet were Per Flemström (flute), Kjell Erik Arnesen (oboe), Knut Riisnæs (clarinet), Per Hannisdal (bassoon), and Sverre Bruland (French horn). Each member brought their unique talents and experiences to the group, and together they quickly established themselves as one of the most exciting and innovative chamber music ensembles in Norway. The quintet's early performances were met with critical acclaim, and they soon began to attract a loyal following of fans who were drawn to their dynamic and expressive style.
