Janos Dobra was born on May 15, 1985, in Budapest, Hungary. He was born into a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Janos showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Janos received his early musical education at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where he studied under the tutelage of some of the most renowned pianists in Hungary. He quickly established himself as a prodigious talent, winning numerous awards and accolades for his performances. In 2003, Janos was awarded a scholarship to study at the Juilliard School in New York City, where he continued his musical education under the guidance of some of the most distinguished pianists in the world. During his time at Juilliard, Janos continued to excel, winning several prestigious awards and competitions, including the Juilliard Concerto Competition and the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition. Janos made his professional debut in 2006, performing with the New York Philharmonic under the baton of Lorin Maazel. The performance was a resounding success, and Janos was hailed as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. Over the years, Janos has performed with some of the most renowned orchestras in the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Vienna Philharmonic. He has also collaborated with some of the most distinguished conductors of our time, including Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, and Simon Rattle. Janos has also made a name for himself as a chamber musician, performing with some of the most distinguished ensembles in the world, including the Emerson String Quartet and the Guarneri Quartet. He has also collaborated with some of the most renowned soloists of our time, including Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, and Joshua Bell. In addition to his performances, Janos is also a dedicated teacher, and has taught masterclasses at some of the most prestigious music schools in the world, including the Juilliard School, the Curtis Institute of Music, and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Throughout his career, Janos has received numerous awards and accolades for his performances, including the Avery Fisher Career Grant, the Gilmore Young Artist Award, and the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition. Janos is known for his virtuosic technique, his musical sensitivity, and his ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music he performs. He is widely regarded as one of the most talented and accomplished pianists of his generation, and his performances continue to captivate audiences around the world.
