Karine Georgian is a renowned cellist who has made a significant contribution to the world of classical music. Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, on August 1, 1941, Karine showed an early interest in music and began playing the cello at the age of six. Her father, a violinist, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Karine's musical education began at the Tbilisi State Conservatory, where she studied under the tutelage of Professor Alexander Korsantia. She later continued her studies at the Moscow Conservatory, where she was taught by the legendary cellist Mstislav Rostropovich. Under his guidance, Karine honed her skills and developed a deep understanding of the cello. In 1966, Karine won first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, which launched her career as a soloist.
