Role:EnsemblePRJCT Amsterdam is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2018 by violinist Rosanne Philippens, cellist Ella van Poucke, and pianist Yuri van Nieuwkerk. The trio came together with the goal of exploring the rich and diverse repertoire of classical music, and creating innovative and exciting performances that would captivate audiences around the world. Rosanne Philippens was born in 1986 in the Netherlands, and began playing the violin at the age of four. She studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, and has won numerous awards and prizes for her performances, including the Dutch Music Prize in 2019. She has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. Ella van Poucke was born in 1994 in the Netherlands, and began playing the cello at the age of five. She studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, and has won several awards and prizes for her performances, including the Dutch Classical Talent Award in 2014. She has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. Yuri van Nieuwkerk was born in 1992 in the Netherlands, and began playing the piano at the age of six. He studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, and has won several awards and prizes for his performances, including the Dutch Classical Talent Award in 2016. He has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. Together, Rosanne, Ella, and Yuri form PRJCT Amsterdam, a dynamic and innovative classical music ensemble that has quickly gained a reputation for its exciting and engaging performances. The trio has performed at many of the world's leading concert halls and festivals, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Salzburg Festival. One of the highlights of PRJCT Amsterdam's career so far was their performance at the 2019 BBC Proms, where they performed a program of works by Beethoven, Brahms, and Shostakovich. The performance was widely praised by critics and audiences alike, with The Guardian describing it as "a thrilling and deeply moving performance that showcased the incredible talent and artistry of these three young musicians." In addition to their performances, PRJCT Amsterdam is also committed to education and outreach, and has worked with many schools and community organizations to bring classical music to a wider audience. They have also recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of Beethoven's Triple Concerto with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra.
