She was the daughter of a prominent Czech composer, Alois Hába, who was known for his innovative microtonal music. Ida grew up in a musical family and started playing the piano at a young age. Her father recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Ida studied at the Prague Conservatory, where she received a rigorous training in piano performance and music theory. She also recorded many albums of contemporary music, including works by her father, as well as other Czech composers such as Bohuslav Martinů and Leoš Janáček. In addition to her performances and recordings, Ida was also a respected teacher. She taught at the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where she mentored many young pianists. She was known for her rigorous teaching style and her ability to bring out the best in her students. Ida received many awards and honors throughout her career. In 1970, she was awarded the title of Merited Artist by the Czech government, and in 1989, she was awarded the Order of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, one of the highest honors in the Czech Republic.
