The Roberts Wesleyan Brass Ensemble is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1985 at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, New York. The ensemble is made up of talented musicians who are students, faculty, and alumni of the college. The ensemble was founded by Dr. Paul Shewan, who was the director of instrumental music at Roberts Wesleyan College at the time. The ensemble has been led by several different directors over the years, including Dr. Shewan, Dr. Timothy Smith, and Dr. Paul Burgett. The Roberts Wesleyan Brass Ensemble has performed at many prestigious venues over the years, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and the Royal Albert Hall in London. The ensemble has also performed at numerous music festivals and competitions, both nationally and internationally. One of the highlights of the ensemble's performance history was their appearance at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in 1995. The ensemble was invited to perform at the conference, which was held in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The ensemble's performance was well-received by the audience and earned them a standing ovation.
