Bolette Roed is a Danish recorder player who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and innovative approach to classical music. Born in 1975 in Denmark, Roed began playing the recorder at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. She went on to study at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, where she received her diploma in 1999. Roed's early career was marked by a series of impressive performances and awards. In 1997, she won first prize at the Danish National Recorder Competition, and in 1998 she was awarded the prestigious Léonie Sonning Music Prize, which is considered one of the highest honors in Danish music.
