The Grumiaux Trio was a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1961 by the Belgian violinist Arthur Grumiaux, the French cellist Georges Janzer, and the Belgian pianist Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden. The trio was named after its founder, Arthur Grumiaux, who was one of the most renowned violinists of the 20th century. Arthur Grumiaux was born in 1921 in Villers-Perwin, Belgium. He began playing the violin at the age of four and went on to study at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
