Artist Info
Elisabeth Brauss is a German classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her exceptional talent and musicality. Born in 1995 in Hanover, Germany, Brauss began playing the piano at the age of four and quickly showed a natural aptitude for the instrument. She received her first piano lessons from her mother, who is also a pianist, and later studied with renowned teachers such as Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and Lars Vogt. Brauss made her debut as a soloist at the age of 11, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 with the Lower Saxony State Orchestra. Since then, she has performed with many leading orchestras, including the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also given recitals in major concert halls around the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Wigmore Hall in London, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. One of Brauss's most notable performances was at the 2016 International German Piano Award, where she won first prize and the audience prize. Her performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra was praised for its technical brilliance and emotional depth. The following year, she was awarded the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship, which provides financial support and career guidance to exceptional young musicians. Brauss's repertoire is wide-ranging and includes works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms, and many other composers. She is particularly known for her interpretations of Mozart's piano music, which she has described as "a constant source of inspiration and joy." Her recordings of Mozart's Piano Concertos Nos. 20 and 21 with the Munich Chamber Orchestra have been highly acclaimed, with Gramophone magazine praising her "crisp, clear articulation and sensitive phrasing." Despite her young age, Brauss has already established herself as one of the most promising pianists of her generation. Her performances are characterized by a rare combination of technical virtuosity and musical sensitivity, and she has been praised for her ability to bring out the emotional depth and complexity of the music she plays. As she continues to develop her career, she is sure to be a major force in the world of classical music for many years to come.More....
