Birth:1974 in Tashkent, UzbekistanEldar Nebolsin is a renowned classical pianist who has captivated audiences around the world with his virtuosic performances and sensitive interpretations of the great works of the piano repertoire. Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1974, Nebolsin showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano at the age of five. His talent was quickly recognized, and he was accepted into the prestigious Moscow Conservatory at the age of 12, where he studied with such luminaries as Lev Naumov and Sergei Dorensky. Nebolsin's early years at the Moscow Conservatory were marked by intense study and practice, as he worked to master the technical and musical demands of the piano repertoire. He quickly gained a reputation as a prodigious talent, and was invited to perform in concerts and competitions throughout Russia and Europe. In 1992, he won first prize at the Rachmaninov International Piano Competition in Moscow, cementing his status as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. Over the next several years, Nebolsin continued to build his career as a soloist and chamber musician, performing with some of the world's leading orchestras and collaborating with such renowned artists as violinist Vadim Repin and cellist Mischa Maisky. He also began to record extensively, releasing critically acclaimed albums of works by Chopin, Rachmaninov, and other composers. One of the highlights of Nebolsin's career came in 2005, when he was invited to perform at the prestigious Verbier Festival in Switzerland. His performance of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Verbier Festival Orchestra was hailed as a triumph, and he was invited back to the festival in subsequent years to perform with other leading musicians. In addition to his work as a performer, Nebolsin has also been active as a teacher and mentor to young musicians. He has served on the faculty of the Moscow Conservatory and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England, and has given masterclasses and workshops around the world. Throughout his career, Nebolsin has been recognized with numerous awards and honors for his contributions to the world of classical music. In addition to his victory at the Rachmaninov International Piano Competition, he has been awarded the Grand Prix at the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competition in Paris, the Gold Medal at the San Antonio International Piano Competition, and the Diapason d'Or award for his recording of Chopin's complete Nocturnes. Today, Nebolsin continues to perform and record extensively, delighting audiences with his passionate and insightful interpretations of the great works of the piano repertoire.
